The 2nd Annual Hunger Hero Awards
We have to work together to reach a hunger-free world. Whether you’re a volunteer, company or organization who has made a significant contribution to support our mission, we want to thank them for making a difference! At our 2nd Annual Hunger Hero Awards, we celebrated those who did extraordinary things this year in the fight against hunger.
Last Friday, attendees entered the Dr. Phillips Center and were greeted with a cocktail reception. Cole NeSmith, the night’s host and founder of the Creative City Project, kicked off the night. There were guest performances by Church Boi as well as a beautiful and moving set by CLOVES. We also gave a special award to Chris Bergoch, writer and producer of “The Florida Project” as well as a couple of the cast members from the film.
A Story of Impact
Along with honoring this year’s Hunger Heroes, we had the privilege of sharing our newest story about Josie and how our Fed 40 program impacted her family.
Global Impact
Hugh Evans, the co-founder of Global Citizen, told his story and inspired us all to work towards a hunger–free world. We even heard from our CEO, Dave Green, about his journey to South Sudan where he made critical connections that will make a difference in one of the worst humanitarian crises of our lifetime.
It was an incredible night for all of those who attended! Congratulations to the following Hunger Heroes who went above and beyond in the fight for a hunger-free world this past year:
