220,000 Central Floridians Will Get a Surprise in Their Electric Bill This Month

Alvaro Martinez News

ORLANDO, Fla. – If you’re an OUC customer, you can expect an extra surprise in your electric bill for this month. The Orlando Utilities Commission is empowering their customers in more ways than one this month by inviting over 220,000 customers to give back to the Central Florida community in an innovative way.

OUC, the municipally-owned public utility providing water and electric service to citizens of Orlando, is including an ad in their September electric bills spotlighting Feeding Children Everywhere. The printed ad invites community members to join OUC and Feeding Children Everywhere in their fight against hunger in Florida. Thanks to OUC’s sponsorship, FCE has an opportunity to invite tens of thousands to join the fight against hunger.

During United We Stand Against Hunger, a meal-packaging event sponsored by OUC earlier this fall, Central Floridians of all ages came together to package 50,000 meals for hungry children and families through FCE’s U.S. Hunger program. The result? Many families received meals within days of the event.

Similarly, this creative campaign sponsored by OUC will help provide meals to those need. Check out the campaign here

As part of the campaign, FCE is excited to launch an exciting new way to make a personal difference in the fight against hunger. Now, you can start a personal fundraising campaign that will provide healthy meals for hungry people.

You can use your page to celebrate an upcoming birthday, to honor the memory of a loved one and more. Your page can include a personal story along with pictures and videos to inspire your friends and family to come together for a hunger-free world.

Many are currently using this new platform to help raise money for meals to help Haitians affected by Hurricane Matthew.
