Everything’s Big in Texas, Including Their Impact

Brad Taylor Projects

On January 12, students and staff from the University of Texas gathered to pack 16,000 healthy meals to be delivered through the North Texas Food Bank. This makes a big impact for hungry children and families in the area that would go without. Several different departments in the school ended up gathering in honor of the MLK Day of Service.

This group was on the hunt for something upbeat and really fun for their volunteers to participate in. Their school is closed the day before January 12th which has been a challenge to work with in the past. So they were looking for a volunteer event in the Dallas area. The event host, Mackenzie had recently attended a Hunger Project at the Arboretum and wanted to recreate the volunteer experience for more people that work in or with her department.

Booking a Meal Packing Event

When you book a Hunger Project with Feeding Children Everywhere, all you have to do is provide the volunteers, the location, the tables, and the funding. We bring our team for set-up, training, and tear down so that your volunteers can just show up at the provided location ready to pack! We provide this easy and fun volunteer experience for any group with every meal packaging project. With lentils flying and music booming, it’s no wonder our volunteers leave a Hunger Project excited and empowered.
