Fighting Hunger with Rotary Leaders of Tampa

Julie Mast Projects

On October 20th, over one hundred local business and professional leaders from the Rotary of Tampa Westchase were able to come together for one big meal packing event. This chapter of The Rotary Club is located in the heart of Westchase, Tampa. Through this Hunger Project, they worked together under their mission: to improve the quality of life for children, the aged, the disabled, and those living in poverty through active service.

Thanks to the dedication and passion of the many volunteers who helped out, we were able to package 30,000 meals for hungry children and families in Guatemala! These meals will be distributed by Children’s Hunger Fund.

Bringing the Tampa Community Together

The Rotary Club of Tampa Westchase has been involved in many community projects throughout the years. Rotary International is a service organization whose purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian service. Here at Feeding Children Everywhere, we provide a fun, meaningful service project for community members and groups like The Rotary Club to get involved in.

This project consisted of various ages of volunteers from high schoolers to business leaders. It was a great opportunity for all different kinds of people in the area of Westchase to come together and serve the community. Vic Teschel, the President of Tampa Westchase Rotary Club, was overjoyed to be at this meal packing event helping out. When asked why he decided to host this project, he said, “It’s a great way to bring together a local community while making a global impact. And what a better way to do it than alongside your friends and family.”
