Together with 9/11 Day of Service and U.S. Hunger, thousands of New Yorkers are coming together to assemble 500,000 healthy meals! Follow along here throughout the day to see what we have going on.
Update 4:19 p.m.
Our goal was 500,000 meals. The enthusiasm and the initiative to help from the participants made us not only reach our goal, but surpass it by packaging over 505, 000 meals. We are excited to have been able to package so many meals for New Yorkers in need!

Update 4:33 p.m.

We surpassed our goal because our final meal count is 505,728 meals!

Shift 5 is well underway and we’re getting closer to our goal!

A smile and a hairnet are the essentials for every Hunger Hero!

Our Shift 5 participants are around their assembly lines ready to assemble meals staying right here in New York City!

We’re all paying tribute today for different reasons but the feeling is shared – we love our community and we are one.

Shift 4 is now finished with 415,000 meals packaged!

With 20 minutes left in our fourth shift, we have completed 355,000 meals!

One of our favorite things to see at Hunger Projects is the participants having fun – whether they’re cheering or dancing along to the music, it’s always a good time!

City Harvest of New York just picked up 9 palettes of our meal! From the hands of our participants to the hands of the recipients, these meals will make a great impact to those in greatest need in New York City.
