Feeding Children Everywhere’s Pledge to Sustainability

Dave Green Sustainability

As part of our mission to end hunger around the world, Feeding Children Everywhere is making a pledge to sustainability. In 2017, we’re taking steps aimed at reducing our carbon footprint and promoting sustainable food production in communities around the world. Our pledge to sustainability is a component of a deeper commitment to aligning with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Global climate disruption is impacting the planet in ways never experienced in human history. Warmer temperatures are contributing to changing weather patterns that cause more intense storms and heavier rainfall in some places and drought in others.

These changes are having a direct effect on worldwide hunger. In response:

  • BIODEGRADABLE PACKAGING – We are proud to announce that we will now be packaging all meal kits in biodegradable bags.
  • FRUIT FORESTS – We have started planting trees and fruit forests in the countries where FCE meals are distributed around the world.
  • CARBON REDUCTION – We have taken steps as an organization to manage our overall carbon emissions by reducing air travel by 50 percent and long haul shipping by 50 percent. Those goals were achieved in 2017.
  • SUSTAINABLE FARMING – We work consistently around the world to promote sustainable farming methods, including a major farming initiative with South Sudanese refugees in Northern Uganda.

Will you take this pledge to sustainability with us? Find out how you can help create a more sustainable world for everyone here.

Together for a Hunger-Free World,

Dave Green, CEO of Feeding Children Everywhere
