HR Generalist


LOCATION: ORLANDO, FL

REPORTS TO: VP OF PEOPLE AND CULTURE

DEPARTMENT: HUMAN RESOURCES

DIRECT REPORTS: NONE

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: NON-EXEMPT

HOURS: FULL TIME (40 HRS)

Position Summary:

The HR Generalist will work directly with the VP of People & Culture and manage the administrative functions within the HR department. The role will support headquarters, as well as all regional offices and their staff. The primary areas of focus include, but are not limited to: payroll, HRIS, benefits, recruitment, onboarding, event planning and writing company policies/procedures.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • Managing the HR Information System (Paylocity)
    • Maintaining accurate employee information
    • Uploading all employee documents
    • Managing HRIS user groups, access and permission levels
  • Processing payroll
    • Managing time and attendance system (Webtime)
    • Managing time off and time off accruals
    • Editing timecards and ensuring timely time card approvals
  • Completing Payroll Report (Monthly)
    • Tracking overtime, payroll and payroll taxes (month to month and year to year)
  • Completing Staff Numbers Report (Monthly)
    • Tracking new hires, separations and employee retention
  • Assisting in the recruitment process
    • Creating job descriptions
    • Posting all open positions
    • Reviewing resumes and pre-screening applicants
    • Scheduling interviews
    • Contacting references
  • Managing staff onboarding process
    • Completing I-9 Verifications
    • Reviewing company policies/procedures
    • Adding new hires to payroll
    • Providing office tours
    • Training new hires on organization tools and best practices
    • Distributing office keys, alarm codes, technology, etc.
    • Initiating 403b retirement meeting with Thrivent Financial
  • Managing offboarding process
    • Terminating from payroll, benefits, etc.
    • Administering COBRA
    • Gathering all company property
    • Handling any unemployment claims
    • Scheduling exit interview
  • Managing benefits administration system (Maxwell Health)
    • Keeping employee information accurate and current
    • Adding new hires to system and granting access for benefit elections
    • Removing separated employees
  • Completing all employment verifications
  • Assisting VP of People & Culture administratively and with special projects in any of the following areas:
    • Employee relations
    • Employee engagement/appreciation
    • Company event planning
    • Workers Comp
    • OSHA
    • Healthcare
    • Employee performance reviews
    • Staff surveys
    • Research
    • Miscellaneous administrative support
  • Coordinating the logistics of Weekly Recharge (staff meeting)
    • Ordering/picking up refreshment
    • Setting up room – technology, seating, etc.
    • Preparing all birthday/workiversary/employee of the month celebration materials and gifts
  • Writing/editing company policies, documents, training materials
  • Handling all HR filing and keeping all records organized and accurate

  • YOU’RE EXPERIENCED: ​2-3 years of related HR experience (required), HRIS experience (preferred)
  • BACHELOR’S DEGREE (required)
