It Only Takes One to Feed Thousands

It’s not too often that one person can say their mission trip helped over 50,000 people.  But this is what happened when Matthew Langford, student of Palm Beach Atlantic University, visited Kenya one year ago.

After that trip, Langford decided he wanted to make a difference starting right here at home.  He met Don Campbell, CEO and president of Feeding Children Everywhere and a passion was instantly sparked. Langford knew he wanted to plan his first meal-packing event.

Langford rallied together hundreds of students to raise funds and create awareness for the 50,000-meal event that was held on April 14 near the Mahoney Gym on campus.

Over 100 students came together to package, seal and box meals. The meals packaged by PBA student will be sent to Kenya and also distributed to local schools right here in Central Florida.

Jennifer Valdovinos, another Palm Beach Atlantic Student, told us how much she enjoyed the event.

“I think it’s really awesome! It feels nice to know that I’m helping an organization that feeds hungry people.”

Langford was overjoyed to see his hard work over two months finally come together into 174 boxes set on three pallets.

“It was more than I could have hoped for.   This beautiful day turned into something more than imaginable,” said Langford.
